Rivington Chase

Rivington Chase is an exciting development that will create a brand-new £200m neighbourhood on a 74-hectare former industrial (Horwich Loco Works) site along the M61 corridor.

The Vision

Bolton Council, Homes England and developer Bluemantle Group are working on plans to create 1,700 homes, employment space and local amenities. Cycle and pedestrian routes will link Rivington Chase to nearby Middlebrook – the biggest Leisure and Retail Park in the North West.

Rivington Chase will deliver a range of much needed houses on brownfield sites, directly meeting the housing needs of Horwich and the nearby areas and will bring substantial financial investment into Horwich, generating up to 1,500 jobs on site and another 320 during construction. The new population will also boost the economy and new land will also give local businesses the opportunity to expand and offer attractive opportunities for investors.

““Rivington Chase has already started to deliver much needed housing on a brownfield site. This site is critical in helping protect greenfield and greenbelt land from overdevelopment in Horwich and across the wider Bolton area. It will create job opportunities, community spaces, and increased investment in local education, healthcare, and amenities with a Heritage Core at its heart."”
Mark Caldwell, Chief Executive of Bluemantle
