Bolton is expanding and growing, and this is providing extensive investment and business expansion opportunities with strong public institutions. The borough has been successful in securing major external funding in recent years including Bolton Council investment, Future High Street Fund, Towns Fund, GM Brownfield Investment and Levelling Up.

To capitalise on the significant regeneration that is planned in the borough we are bringing together leading landowners, developers, agents and expanding businesses, with senior leaders from the public and private sector.

There is significant future investment planned and keynote speeches will be delivered at the event from some of the UKs leading land and property organisations as well as exhibition stands and business networking.

  • Sue Johnson Bolton Council Chief Executive

    • Sue Johnson became Chief Executive of Bolton Council in 2022.
    • Sue joined Bolton in 2008 as Deputy Director of Corporate Resources and became the Council’s Treasurer in 2014.

  • Councillor Cox Leader of Bolton Council

    • Cllr Martyn Cox became leader of Bolton Council in 2021, his portfolio includes responsibility for the regeneration of Bolton Town Centre.
    • Martyn had 27 years of experience in the construction industry before retiring in 2019.
    • He also holds the “Green City” portfolio on the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
    • Cllr Cox was born and raised in Bolton and is passionate about creating a more vibrant and attractive town centre.
    • He is a familiar face on TV and radio, and frequently gives media interviews about the challenges facing the modern high street.

  • Nick Peel Councillor at Bolton Council

    • Nick Peel has been a Bolton Councillor since 2000 and represents the town centre ward of Tonge with the Haulgh.
    • He has been leader of the Labour Group on Bolton council since 2020.
    • Cllr Peel has previously served as Executive Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, Children’s Services and Housing and Regulatory Services.
    • He is also a former Chair of the council’s Planning Committee.
    • Nick is a proud advocate for the future potential of Bolton town centre, and the borough as a whole.

  • John Fletcher Managing Director of CRE

    • John Fletcher has been in the position of Managing Director at Fletcher CRE since 2009.
    • Fletcher CRE are a well-established firm of specialist property consultants and Chartered Surveyors with over 30+ years of property experience covering a range of disciplines and services.
    • Successfully worked with Bolton Council over a 10 year period, advising on a number of exciting Town Centre projects.

  • Steve Wild Executive Director for Strategic Investment and Growth at Peel

    • Stephen is an Executive Director for Strategic Investment and Growth at Peel L&P having joined the Peel Group in 2006.
    • Within Peel L&P Stephen is responsible for the major significant schemes coming forward including in Doncaster, Bolton, Bury, Gloucester and Salford Quays.
    • From 2009 to present Stephen has also been Managing Director of Media City overseeing the strategic direction and growth of the world class creative, digital and tech hub.
    • He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and was previously a partner at GVA Grimley and worked closely in delivery of major public/private sector initiatives across the North West and Yorkshire for the last 30 years.

  • Tony Jones Main Board Director at the Emerson Group.

    • Tony is currently the Managing Director of Orbit Developments and Main Board Director at the Emerson Group.
    • In Bolton, Orbit own and continue to invest in over £375m in a number of schemes, such as Middlebrook Retail, Leisure and Business Park, the largest in the UK.
    • Recently, Tony has been developing connections in Town Centres to bring forward redevelopment and engagement with larger employers to take pride and ownership of their local communities.
    • Tony is now bringing together businesses in Bolton to form an Economic Alliance and proposing that part of the future success for Bolton Town Centre could be a Business Improvement District.

  • Noel Sharpe Group Chief Executive Officer at Bolton at Home

    • Noel is Group Chief Executive Officer at Bolton at Home and has been working in the sphere of social housing in the northwest at a senior level for over 20 years.
    • Her experience spans all aspects of general needs and supported housing management, property asset maintenance and investment, regeneration and community investment and new homes development.
    • She has a keen interest in the health and wellbeing, and financial inclusion agendas and how these two very important factors can directly help to improve the lives of customers, communities, and neighbourhoods.
    • Recently Noel has spearheaded the development of the Group’s “Greenworks” project aimed at upskilling the association’s existing workforce, to meet the challenges of retrofit and the carbon reduction agendas, but also the wider community to support the provision of new skills and employment opportunities for its customers.

  • Harry Dhaliwal Managing Director of Step Places

    • Harry is currently the Managing Director of Step Places
    • His passion for community was cast in stone at a very early age. He was brought up in the heart of his home community with his family owning a local business.
    • He saw on a day-to-day basis how diverse communities of all ages and backgrounds can work together and thrive, how they can have a positive impact on people’s lives.
    • He believes that community still exists in our society and is at the heart of tradition.

  • Greg Styles Head of Retail Development and Advisory at Colliers

    • Greg is currently Head of Retail Development and Advisory at Colliers.
    • He is a retail property development and investment specialist with over 30 years’ experience, who advises clients across the UK on all aspects of agency, development and investment.
    • In the last decade, he has advised on the acquisition, extension or replacement of over 50 supermarkets.
    • Greg has advised public sector clients on major investment and development projects in towns such as Bolton, Barnsley, Wakefield, Harrogate, Scarborough and Mansfield.

  • Jon Dyson Director of Place at Bolton Council

    • John joined Bolton Council in 2020, initially as Deputy Director of Place, before taking on the role of Director of Place Services.
    • His portfolio includes responsibility for leading the Councils Environment and Regulatory Services, Services to Schools, Libraries, Museums and Culture and Highways, Engineering services and economic development and regeneration.
    • Previously John had worked at Liverpool City Council as a Building Surveyor within the Planning and Building Control Division and as a Business Projects Manager within the Business Management Team.
    • He then became Head of Waste Management at Knowsley Council over a 12-year period before moving to Bolton Council.

  • Simon Bedford Partner at Deloitte

    • Simon is a Partner at Deloitte and leads the regional development advisory practice in Manchester.
    • Simon’s career has focussed principally in the urban planning, economic development and regeneration space and he has advised public and private sector on major projects across the UK and further afield.
    • He is currently advising on several strategic regeneration projects in Greater Manchester towns.

  • Zubair Hanslot Professor at The University of Bolton

    • Zubair is currently a professor at The University of Bolton.
    • Between 2014 and 2016, he completed a secondment as Principal and CEO of a school in the UK where he led in managing, curriculum planning, teaching and learning and full school/college oversight for secondary and further education at the school.
    • Provost is a true Boltonian, where his heart and place in community is directed towards promoting cohesion, integration, and prosperity of all communities in Bolton through education.
    • He is actively involved in the community particularly through the Bolton Council of Mosques, Interfaith and other community groups and has considerable influence through helping the communities.

  • Joseph Daniels Chair of Decarbonisation and Next Gen Board UKBCSD

    • Joseph Michael Daniels is a world leading sustainable technologist, innovator and entrepreneur who is currently the chair of Decarbonisation and Next Gen Board UKBCSD.
    • Built the first net zero connected buildings across 4 continents and raising £40 million upon founding Etopia.
    • In 2022, Joseph retired from his original founding role to create a next generation incubator, Elixr, to help support social impact and sustainability entrepreneurs to change the world.
    • Elixir now has a number of organisations and a key advisory board consisting of some of the world's leaders in sustainability.
    • He is also special advisor to Sintali, the World Bank’s Green Building Accreditation underwriter and special advisor to BEIS construct zero for the British Government.

  • Tim Heatley Founder of Capital & Centric

    • Tim trained as a lawyer but left a career in law behind to found social impact developer Capital&Centric,
    • He started out renovating a derelict house in his hometown of Salford and he now invests over £3m a week on regeneration projects with a positive social impact.
    • Tim is founder of Regeneration Brainery, a national academy aimed at broadening diversity and inclusivity in property, each year it mentors over 1000 young adults throughout the UK.
    • He is the Chair and co-founder of the Greater Manchester Mayors Charity which has raised over £3m in the past 3 years alone.
    • He is co-founder of the Embassy Village charity project in Castlefield creating 40 homes for people experiencing homelessness.
    • He featured on BBC2’s ‘Manctopia’ documentary about the property boom and his work on homelessness and is currently filming a new show for Channel 4 called 'Big Interiors Battle'

  • Adele Warren Councillor at Bolton Council

    • Cllr Warren has represented the Breightmet area of Bolton since 2018.
    • She has been a member of the cabinet since 2019 and previously held the Environmental Services portfolio.
    • In her current role as Executive Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Cllr Warren has a specific focus on the district centres including Farnworth, Westhoughton, Horwich and Little Lever.
    • Her portfolio also covers responsibility for council-owned building and assets, as well as business support and skills development.

  • John Wrathmell Director for Strategy, Research and Economy at the GMCA

    • John is currently Director for Strategy, Research and Economy at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
    • His responsibilities include working to the Mayor and other Leaders to develop and deliver on the city region’s priorities, including delivery of Greater Manchester’s Local Industrial Strategy, engagement with businesses and Government, and building the research and analysis on which Greater Manchester’s unique devolution arrangements have been based.
    • He previously worked as an Economic Adviser at HM Treasury and for Ed Miliband MP and Ed Balls MP as Head of Economic Policy at the Labour Party.
