Project Commitment

The regeneration masterplan for Bolton town centre is more than just a vision – it’s already taking shape on the ground.

From the new £50m transport interchange to the first Grade A office development in a generation, physical signs of change highlight growing confidence in this fast-growing town.

Ready to go

Bolton Council has committed £100m to pump prime the developments set out in its comprehensive masterplan, and it is actively purchasing and clearing key sites across five intervention areas in order to pave the way for major projects over the next 15 years.

The masterplan reflects the council’s deep understanding of Bolton’s growth potential, its position in the sub-regional economy and the ingredients required for future success.

Both the council and its public sector partners have already led by example through investment in a wide range of schemes, including speculative office development (Bolton Central), cultural assets, new infrastructure and public realm.

Major investment is also flowing into the town centre via the expansion of the University of Bolton.

Bolton Council is currently in discussions with a number of developers to bring forward key sites, and is proactively engaging the investment community via events such as MIPIM.
