The eye catching £50 million transport hub was completed in 2017 and combines the town’s train and bus stations into a commuter friendly transport interchange. It also features the first Grade A office development in the town and a ‘skylink’ bridge connecting the interchange with Bolton railway station, offering improved links between the town’s bus and rail services.
The investment in electrification, means a quick 15 minute journey to the centre of Manchester, making the town a more attractive proposition for businesses, residents and visitors.

Bolton Interchange provides a step change in the quality of facilities provided for passengers, including better customer information, enhanced waiting and ticketing facilities, and a light, bright and safe environment. It also has a café, convenience store, cash machine and free Wi-Fi.
A Cycle Hub is provided offering secure storage for 48 bikes, with CCTV and swipe card access, with yearly membership. Along with public toilets and baby changing facilities, it has been carefully designed to be fully accessible, with level or ramped flooring throughout and enhanced ‘Changing Places’ facilities.
