Church Wharf is a planned new neighbourhood right in centre of Bolton that everybody will want to be part of. Set alongside the River Croal, the £150m scheme will provide new homes and jobs and transform an underused piece of land into a thriving local community.

Progress to Date

Muse Developments is working in partnership with Bolton Council to regenerate the site. The new neighbourhood will boost the local economy and breathe new life into the area. Muse Developments plans will make the River Croal the core of the development, the waterfront setting characterised by high quality public realm with a mix of 352 homes, cafes, restaurants, offices and other leisure uses.

Outline planning permission was granted in April 2019 and work has been ongoing on acquisitions and clearance of various sites in order to prepare for the developments.  It is expected that work will start on site in 2020.  Find out more about more at www.churchwharfbolton.co.uk

Development Highlights

The Development will consist of;

  • Nine buildings ranging from two to nine storeys
  • 352 dwellings will be provided across a range of house types, including one to four-bedroom townhouses and apartments
  • Potential for an 80-bedroom hotel and 176 parking spaces
  • Up to 7,500 sqm of business/office floorspace 660 sqm of retail floorspace and 1,500 sqm of professional services
  • 750 sqm floorspace for community facilities
